Oregon Makers is run by Mike, a maker based on the Oregon Coast.

Mike is a self taught fine furniture maker and designer. He worked in the graphics business for over 20 years as a production artist with experience in package design, marketing, advertising, and environmental graphics. Mike has always used woodworking as an outlet for his high need to work with his hands, especially as his career went from traditional to digital. Mike is exceptional at period correct construction and details. He used this skill to restore a 1921 Craftsman Style house to be era correct, building most of the furniture and all of the millwork by hand. He has experience building in the style of Shaker, Craftsman, and Mid-century Modern. Mike is always looking forward to learning new things and being inspired by solving the unique problems that come with building custom furniture. He doesn’t use all the latest gadgets that you find online, his skills are “old school” and he makes the most amazing furniture with the most basic tools.

Mike shares some of the builds at Oregon Makers on YouTube – not to showcase perfection, but to show the process.  Real projects, real constraints, real decisions.  His videos are about the process of making with the hope that viewers would find inspiration in the work.
